Outdoor Winter Activities
Glennteam February Graphics (1).png

During the frosty, winter months, we have to be a little bit more creative in order to keep our (grand)children entertained. But the good news is that there are plenty of amazing things to do in Toronto! I've listed out our family's Top 3 Outdoor Winter activities to do around town! What do you think?

1. Skating at Nathan Phillips Square

Number 1 is a classic and something we love to do when the weather is cold enough. There’s nothing quite like the view from this iconic Toronto skating rink. Lace up your skates and get on that ice!

2. Tobogganing at Christie Pits

We featured Christie Pits in our Tobogganing post already but we’re featuring it again because it’s such a great park in a great neighbourhood. Do yourself a favour after hitting the slopes and check out one of Koreatown’s amazing restaurants; we recommend Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu.

3. Evergreen Brickworks

Another previously featured destination, the Brickworks has events running all winter long (both indoors and outdoors) for the whole family. Food and drinks on-site and programs like Parent/Tot Learn to Skate also make this an appealing destination for families.

Whatever you’re up to, we’d love to know. Enjoy the great outdoors Toronto!

For those on the West-end, MMT is our go-to gym for fun, fitness and fighting supremacy. Owner Peter Montrait and the gym recently got the blessing from Siam No. 1’s Ajahn Suchart Yodkerepauprai after the gym’s first year anniversary. Muay Thai, Kettle Bell and Conditioning classes are offered through the week.

Orangetheory Fitness

The appeal of Orangetheory is the wearable tech. Led by an instructor, the 60-minute session is split between different machines while wearing a heart rate monitor. The goal is to get your heart rate up, which helps you burn more calories for up to 36 hours post-workout.
